Export as SVG

True vector export, and what that means in practice.

SVG export is drawn from the diagram model rather than captured from the screen. Every shape becomes a real vector element and every label becomes real text.

The practical consequence is that an exported SVG opens as editable artwork in tools like Inkscape or Illustrator — you can select an individual shape and change it. Exports that embed a screenshot inside an SVG wrapper look similar and cannot do this.

  • Diagram and element descriptions are written in as title and desc, so the file carries its own alternative text
  • Images are embedded as data URIs, so the file is self-contained
  • Scope can be the whole diagram, the current selection, or a frame
